What does this privacy policy cover?

This privacy policy explains how Eska collects and uses information from users of the Eska platform (“Platform”) and other Eska products and platform (“Eska Products”), including our handling of personally identifiable information.

How are children's personal information handled?

If you are 13 or under, you may only use Eska products and disclose information to us with the consent of your parents or guardians. Your parent or guardian may view all information contained in or associated with your Platform account, including, without limitation, messages between you and your teacher and the scores you have received for homework. Be aware that it is illegal to misrepresent your age.
If you are a parent or teacher of an Eska user, please be aware that we collect personal information through the Platform from your kid, respectively, only when we are authorized to do so by at least one of you. In some cases, a school district or administrator may grant us permission to provide access to Eska products to your child or student; in these cases, we will obtain parental consent as an additional authorization when required by law. When we use the term “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are referring to the personally identifiable information of users of the Platform who are at least eighteen. References to “Children's Personal Information” apply only to personally identifiable information of users under the age of 13 who have registered on the Platform. What information does Eska display or collect?

• Information you provide to us

The first connection to our platform is completely free and you do not have to provide any information. If you enter data in the platform, to use it again, we only need your name, phone number, affiliation and year of birth. We receive other information that you enter on the Platform, whether through a computer, mobile phone, other connectivity terminal, or that you provided to us in any other way. We do not need any location information from your Eska user account that would tell us where your mobile or other device is on the globe at any given time, although you have the option of providing us with this information. If you provide location-based information, you have the option of not displaying the name of your school, district, state or region, although the country in which your mobile device is located is displayed to you on the Platform.

• Information collected automatically

When you interact with the Platform, Eska automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your terminal, including your IP address, information about Eska cookies and the page (s) you have requested. We also record details of your activity on the Platform, as well as the number and frequency of visits to the pages of the Application or our site and its components.
When you download the Platform's mobile application ("Mobile Application"), we automatically collect information on device type, operating system version, application version, user category ( teacher, parent, student, or other type of user) (“User Category”), the digital user ID of the mobile device, and the actions you have taken.
We also use third-party mobile analytics software to help us better understand the functionality of our mobile app on your phone. Eska uses aggregated data to determine how often users use parts of the Platform, so that we can make the Platform attractive and relevant to as many users as possible. As part of our use of data, we may provide aggregated and anonymous information to our partners about how our subscribers use the application.

• Push notifications

If you are using the mobile app, we will send push notifications to your mobile device to notify you of certain activities that may occur in your account, such as when a teacher posts an assignment for your child, when you have new notifications or when scores have been entered by a teacher. You can opt out of receiving these types of communications by disabling them at the device level.

Are my personal data secured?

The personal information in your Eska account is password protected for your privacy and security, as well as many other technical, administrative and physical security mechanisms. We also use coding practices that take steps to prevent attacks on our platform from malicious web browsers and scripts by processing all actions through multiple permission checks.
Eska strives to keep your information private; however, we cannot guarantee security. Unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors can compromise the security of user information. The Platform contains links to other sites, including YouTube. Our Privacy Policy only governs information collected by Eska on the Platform. What choices do I have regarding information?

What if i am in a different country?

When you use the Platform, you consent to your data being transferred and processed in the United States. Eska is subject to the investigative and enforcement powers of the United States Federal Trade Commission. If your use of the Platform or the disclosure of certain information to Eska violates any law applicable to you, your right to use the Platform and / or to disclose such information will be revoked, as is the case wherever use of the Platform is prohibited by law. Will Eska ever change this privacy policy?

We may make changes to this privacy policy from time to time for any reason. Use of the information we collect is subject to the privacy policy in effect at the time the information is collected. If we make any material changes to the way we use personal information, we will notify you by email or notification with two (2) weeks’ notice before the change takes effect. Users are bound by any modification of the privacy policy when they continue to use the platform after this period.
